Why Volunteer with Beacon
Being a volunteer is life enriching and empowering. We value our volunteers for everything they bring to the organisation, and rely on their skills to help Beacon help others.
As a growing local charity, our volunteers are involved with many aspects of our work from promoting our services and fundraising in their community as well as supporting the charity within our centres through administration or reception work.
At the heart of our organisation we have a professional and dedicated counselling team of 60+ counsellors. Volunteer today and help us change lives. Whatever your plans – we’re here to support you every step of the way.
In 2021, our team of counsellors helped 2056 individuals to lead fuller and more rewarding lives through the provision of 13,041 appointments, which were delivered at our Beacon House, via remote delivery and within 29 schools across 9 boroughs.
We introduced the delivery of SHINE wellbeing sessions, and also further engaged with over 500 young people with youth voice on their mental health and their say on mental health services through our #StanpOutStigma campaign and project.
