We have a caring and committed counselling team of over 60 counsellors who counsel at Beacon House, in community venues, on projects and in schools.

Emotional Wellbeing Worker (Compass Project)

The Compass project enables young people access to emotional wellbeing and mental health support, Working closely with the Children’s Services Manager and Schools teams, you will support young people both in person and remotely using a digital platform.

We are looking for an individual who has experience working with young people and a passion for improving their mental health, well-being and resilience. You will be comfortable communicating and presenting to a variety of audiences, and have experience facilitating individual sessions with young people.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and motivated to succeed through working autonomously and with others, has high standards of work, and is passionate about seeing the best outcomes for young people.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is currently in training or newly qualified in a mental health specialism and is passionate about working with young people to support their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Volunteer Trustees

Could you be a Beacon Trustee? 

Beacon is looking for volunteer Trustees to join its Board. Beacon’s Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity. As a charity, we need our Board to oversee what we are doing and help us to make sure that we are truly meeting the needs of the people we support. 

As a Trustee you will work as part of a team, and will have opportunities to learn new skills, gain insights, and make a valuable contribution to the work that Beacon does. We would particularly welcome young people, and people with lived experience of the places we work in and the issues we seek to tackle.  

Trustee roles are part-time, with a minimum commitment of approximately 40 hours per year.

Adult Counsellors

Beacon are currently recruiting experienced counsellors to join a database of skilled therapists within the adult services team. As we continue to develop our private practice and EAP services within the organisation, we want to ensure we meet the demand and needs of our clients.

In ensuring we do so effectively, we are creating a database of counsellors who if successful within this process, will be contacted to offer a role, as the services expand and further capacity is required. Adult salaried counsellors within these roles, when appointed, will deliver 1:1 appointments within Beacon’s Adult 18+ Private Practice and EAP services consisting of 6 session brief therapy.

Services Administrator

Closing Date 23rd November 2023

This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of Beacon’s Services. Working closely with the Children’s Services Manager you will support the the administration of new Services and the development of exiting services.

We are looking for an individual who is an experienced administrator with a passion for Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing, and the services that exist to improve it.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating with a variety of individuals, confident in report writing and have excellent IT skills.
We are looking for someone who is flexible and motivated to succeed; both through working autonomously and as part of a team,

Key objectives of the role:

  1. Reporting to the the Children’s Services Manager, supporting with the smooth running and development of services within Beacon Counselling
  2. Dealing with queries from colleagues and members of Children’s Services Team
  3. Being a first point of contact for external stakeholders
  4. Producing monthly and quarterly service reports
