Young People

We take pride in the quality and effectiveness of our services and hold a track record of 40 years’ experience of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

We deliver emotional wellbeing support to help increase emotional intelligence, normalise and validate emotions and build the resilience needed to manage these emotions.

Our counsellors use age-appropriate methods such as Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, Play Therapy, and creative techniques to help young people express emotions and understand their experiences. Therapy is open-ended and tailored to each individual, this flexible approach lets them progress at their own pace while building resilience, coping skills, and confidence.

Teaching

We offer:

We provide one to one counselling for children and young people under 18. Sometimes young people find it difficult to open up to friends or family about what they’re experiencing. Speaking with a trained counsellor who is independent of their everyday life can offer a safe and confidential space to explore thoughts and feelings without judgment.

Private counselling sessions are available from £60 per session for those who live in, or have a GP based in, the Stockport area or £85 if not

Frequently Asked Questions

As the needs of our students changed, and challenges were raised to meet these needs, Beacon stepped up to adapt the provision in order to allow those students to get the support they needed.

Marple Hall School

I feel the counsellor understands the challenges our students are dealing with and she is always approachable. The counsellor always feedbacks to me and reports any safeguarding concerns plus she is great with communication … I feel the counsellor is a very jolly person that radiates positivity when she visits our school, the students definitely benefit from her sessions and our staff do as soon as we see her smile walking through our school.
