Adults

We believe everyone deserves the chance to enjoy good mental health.

Counselling provides lifelong tools and strategies to manage life’s challenges.

Our one to one Counselling provides a safe space to explore your thoughts and emotions, discover your inner strengths and understand and overcome personal challenges.

While friends and family can be supportive, it’s often valuable to talk with someone outside your everyday life. Our counsellors provide a safe, regular space to explore what matters to you, without judgment or advice, and will work at a pace that gives you time to make the changes you want.

EMDR is a highly effective, research-supported therapy designed to help people heal from trauma, anxiety, and distressing memories. By using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps the brain reprocess difficult experiences, so they feel less overwhelming and more manageable.

Many people who try EMDR experience meaningful relief faster than with traditional talk therapy, making it a powerful, efficient path toward emotional balance and long-term healing.

  • EMDR sessions are £70 for those living in Stockport (SK1-8) and £90 per session for those outside Stockport

I think this service had truly supported me in a variety of areas. I am feeling much more positive as I move into a return to work and planning for the future.

Beacon got in touch with me very quickly. My appointments were convenient, consistent and every week. My counsellor was faultless, a gifted individual

Stockport Council has worked with Beacon for a number of years to help support the mental health and resilience of our colleagues. We have always been extremely impressed with the knowledge, expertise and professionalism shown by Beacon staff and we can clearly see the positive impact this service has in helping our colleagues through difficult or traumatic periods in their life

I feel the counsellor understands the challenges our students are dealing with and she is always approachable. The counsellor always feedbacks to me and reports any safeguarding concerns plus she is great with communication … I feel the counsellor is a very jolly person that radiates positivity when she visits our school, the students definitely benefit from her sessions and our staff do as soon as we see her smile walking through our school.
